Job Description: Hope Bridge Home RTC is looking for compassionate and dedicated Direct Caregivers to join our team in providing hands-on, day-to-day support for children who have experienced trauma and face emotional and behavioral challenges. As a Direct Caregiver, you will play an essential role in creating a safe, supportive environment where children can begin their healing journey and grow into resilient individuals. About Us: Hope Bridge Home is a faith-based residential treatment center dedicated to serving children ages 6-12 who have experienced abuse, neglect, and trauma. We provide a safe haven for healing and growth, combining evidence-based therapeutic approaches with compassionate, individualized care. Our team is driven by a shared vision to empower these young heroes to overcome their past and embrace a brighter future.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children or adolescents, especially those with special needs.
- Certifications: First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within the first 30 days).
- Commitment: Ability to work as a full-time employee and provide consistent, hands-on care for residents.
- Skills: Strong understanding of child development principles, particularly in the context of trauma and behavioral challenges.
Job Responsibilities:
- Direct Care & Supervision: Provide consistent, compassionate, and structured care to residents, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Behavior Management: Implement behavior management strategies as outlined by the Child Care Administrator, helping residents develop positive coping skills and social behaviors.
- Daily Living Support: Assist residents with daily living activities, including meals, hygiene, chores, and recreational activities.
- Create a Supportive Environment: Foster a nurturing and structured environment where children feel valued, understood, and encouraged to grow.
- Safety & Incident Reporting: Be vigilant in identifying potential safety concerns and reporting any incidents or behavioral issues to the Child Care Administrator.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate daily logs and documentation as required to track the rogress, behavior, and well-being of each resident.
- Must be 21 years of age for children’s residential program.
- Previous experience caring for children or adults with intellectual and/or physical disabilities preferred.
- Must demonstrate competence in certain areas of training, i.e., CPR, CPI, First Aid, Behavior Management; Driving.
- Ability to recognize inappropriate or manipulative behavior and to calmly and repetitively model appropriate behavior in difficult or challenging situations.
- Ability to react to serious situations, i.e., rescue, preventing a resident from hurting themselves.
- A valid, clear Texas drivers license, as you will drive residents to activities, medical appointments, etc.
- Drug testing and backgrounds checks apply.
- Demonstrate competence in the area of reading, writing and all means of communication.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Organize work and complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Contribute to teamwork and harmonious working relations.
- Use initiative and act independently.
- Attend and participate in required training sessions and department staff meetings.
- Report to work on time and on a regular basis.
- Conduct oneself in an ethical manner.
- Treat residents and employees with integrity and respect.
- Maintain certain standards of job performance and conduct.
- Serve as a role model for our residents.
- Adhere to safety, hygiene, health, and fire hazard guidelines; policies and procedures; mission and values.

- Reliable Transportation: Ensure reliable transportation to fulfill job duties, including attending trainings and potential community outings with residents.
- Background Check: Successfully complete an approved criminal background check as required by state regulations.
- Professional Growth: Participate in ongoing training sessions to stay updated on best practices in trauma-informed care, child development, and behavior management techniques.
